Well, it is my least favorite time of the year. Spider time! The time that they start crawling back in our houses. Wanna know something? I'm seriously terrified of them! I know, I know I'm a lot bigger then them, what can they do to me? Still terrified... A year ago it was that bad that I started hitting myself when I saw one because I had the idea one was crawling over me... Guess what, there is one in my room every single night since 1.5 weeks, didnt get much sleep since.
I know they are useful creatures and we shouldnt hurt them but I'm just sooooo scared.
Does anyone have an idea how to shoo them out of my room? (I have seriously sealed of every little crack of my room!)

I have read that spiders and insects and such dislike certain essential oils. For some reason tea trea, cinnamon, and spearmint or peppermint comes to mind, but don't take my word for it as I am not sure. Do a google search, you should be able to find some suggestions of what to use and how to mix it up, then just spray it around all the doors and windows and cracks and crannies. Hope that helps.

In the meantime, please don't hit yourself. That is far more serious than a little arachnaphobia. So far the spiders have harmed you much less than you have harmed yourself. :( If you really can't control it then maybe think about mentioning it to your doctor.

It isnt so bad anymore, i was hitting the imaginary spiders that were crawling over me...
I told my doc, didnt really react to it.... Not really much he can do about my fear.
Dont really dare to look it up on google, as they usually at 8th-legged pictures to the article...
Thank you for the info, really gonna try it out. If it works, it works, if it doesnt, it doesnt.
from the people in the neighbourhood we hear that they have a lot of them in there homes to, maybe there's a plague?

Ok, I looked it up for you. didn't think about pics, sorry. Put some water and vodka or rubbing alchohol in a spray bottle (just water is fine, too), then add any citrus EO you have, or eucalyptus, tea tree, cinnamon, peppermint, citronella, or lavender. Use a fair bit, 5-10%. Shake it up good and spray all around, door frames, windows, I would spray along the baseboards maybe? Especially if there is an exterior wall.

Here is a link to a wikihow page, I promise there are no pics (at least not when I looked!)

I hope this helps.

edited to add: one of the things listed is to make a strong tobacco "tea" and spray outside, please just be aware that tobacco tea is extremely toxic to people and pets! Use caution!

Thank you soooo much for looking this up!
Will try it out tomorow (its past 10pm here in belgium)
Wont do the tobacco thingy, I have 2 cats who I love, wouldnt do a thing to hurt them...
I dont know what a baseboard is, but i guess its something like a second wall?

The baseboards are just the trim pieces that go along the bottom of the wall, where the wall and the floor meet. As tight as that looks, that corner where the wall sits on top of the floor is a good place for things to get in and out. So let's invite them all out!

eta: you are welcome, hope this all helps :)

Also if you have any Osage Orange trees around where you are, spiders, and other insects, do not like the fruits. Place the fruits on a pan and place under your bed or in a closet and you will be left alone. won't necessarily drive them completely out of your house, but the use of the osage orange will prevent them from showing where you place the fruits. Also pets normally leave it alone, but it can be toxic if eaten by pets(or so I've heard).
