Wow, it is so funny how soap making just kind of takes over your thoughts. I have only made a couple of batches of soap and already I find myself looking at objects house and at store that would make a good mold or use as drying racks, etc. It is addictive!

I'm that way too. When I'm cleaning, my mind just wonders to all the things i wanna try/ask/experiment with. It's so simple yet there's so much too it!

I just got through eating a low cal HC frozen dinner. When I got through scraping out every last piece/drop (have to as there isn't much food in the container to get full) I noticed the container. It was kind of shaped like an wave or S and thought that would really make a few nice bars of soap. Ill have to save this one. Oh I can see it now. Boxes full of saved containers.

If I've soaped a new log before bed it kills me to wait to cut it, I spend time laying in bed wondering what it will look like cut into bars....I spend a lot of time at my job also thinking about soap...LOL my life is eat, sleep, SOAP

I dream about soaping, too. I've thought of new scent combinations in my dreams. Some of them turn out, like patchouli & strawberry. Some turn out nasty, like Black Raspberry Vanilla & Oatmeal Milk and Honey.

I'm a crocheter, too, so I have dreams about new patterns and even invented a new stitch in my dream. It turned out lovely once I woke up and tried it.

Once you start soaping, every container becomes a potential mold ;)

It really is a great escape I often make a log before going to work and put it in the fridge, during the night if I am having a tough one I think of my soap and how it will look and smell and all things soapy and the night goes by so much easier :0)

While driving to work and it is trash day in some neighborhoods, I find myself looking at what they are throwing away to see if it will work in my soap room/basement.

the other day I saw a metal table and called my husband to go pick it up but it was gone before he got there (or so he says)... maybe another soaper took it. :)

Now that I've got a few batches under my belt and they turned out, I'm starting to do a lot more daydreaming. I was soooo looking forward to coming home from work the other day to unmold the previous days creations!

Soaping can sure be a time consuming passion ... but I wouldn't want it any other way! I find walking past cake shops, is now time consuming, as I start thinking about making soap look like this and that. Online blogs ... youtube ... etc etc etc!

I love soap ... and I reckon that's a good thing for me!

It's a healthy addiction. Kind of like if you were addicted to eating broccoli, or that's what I just keep telling myself

It's so nice to know I'm not alone! My husband probably thinks I've gone nuts since last October when I made my first batch of soap! My excuse for the first five or six batches which I made in rapid succession was that they'd be great Christmas gifts - and it was so fun to give people five different homemade soaps. Now I still want to keep making soap but what's my excuse? We now have lots more than we need and running out of room to cure it because I've made another five batches since Christmas!! Have some valentines to give away but now am trying to wait until we actually will need soap to use! It's very hard to wait because I see my pattern - about every two weeks I feel the need to make a new batch! I've never had a crafty hobby - never had time to with little ones all around but now the youngest is seven and I have more time for crafts. There are many quilters in my husband's family but I couldn't relate to their passion for sewing until now that I have this passion for soaping!!! I enjoy getting on this forum and reading what other soap-crazy folks are doing and feeling inspired!!

Easter's coming up, so you're going to need to make some Easter soap. And you can't forget about Mother's Day, May Day, April Fools Day, National Jellybean day, Cinco de Mayo, etc...

See, there's lots of reasons to make soap
