The weather lately has been humid & wet and my curing soap is not happy! I find they feel wet & oozy, what do you guys to to keep curing soap dry in humid weather?

Same here Rebekah. Qld is hot & humid from all the rain ATM.
Struggling with the humidity.
My meter said it was 81% today ...too high for soap.
I've been keeping my soap in my walk in robe. Its the coolest dryest place in the house.
Try to find the best spot in your house for it.
A fan maybe to keep ther air circulating.
Do u have a dry setting on your aircon???
This is what I use. It pulls the moisture from the air. Not just for soap but for cooling on humid days.

It's very humid in Melbourne at the moment too. Soaps in bathroom are all sweating just like Melt & Pour does. I might try and make some soap later on.

I'm in Cairns and the humidity is brutal here, I've positioned my drying rack in a really well ventilated area and sewn a cotton cover to go over the rack - it seems to help reduce the sweating on the soaps. If it looks like raining for more than 3 or 4 days in a row I pack the soaps up in cardboard boxes and then take them back to the rack when the rain stops.

No AC at home Nattynoo, we have evap cooling with adds to the humidity.

I may be using too much castor oil, will cut it down in my next batch.

How are you QLD girls holding up?

We had some crazy humidity a few weekends back, which is unusual for this hot, dry area of Oz and my soap was affected by it. During the weekend I ran a fan in the bedroom I had the soap in, but I wasn't prepared to keep that going while I was at work.

I'm hoping the bars will remain good for when this weather leaves and the usual hot dry returns!

I live in Melbourne and the humidity is high in the last few weeks.
I have been thinking the same thing all day what to do.
My soaps are slippery to touch especially those curing.

Well I soaped with my usual recipe tonight and it took ages to trace which is unusual for this recipe. I used citrus essential oils though, so maybe that made a difference.

Looks like we are all having the same problem in all states, here in Sydney the humidity is terrible for my soaps they are taking ages to cure, I usually cut the next day but at the moment have to wait over 3 days and the soaps are still sticky and soft, my salt bars are weeping galore. I found that the soaps I keep in cardboard boxes covered with tissues are keeping well maybe that is the way to go until this high humidity passes :?

Thanks guys, I'm in Melb & humidity feels like the tropics! Will give a cardboard box a go, as I don't want my soaps to melt away.

My salt bars are weeping like crazy too...grrrrrr.
My other soaps that are well cured are fine though.
No moisture there at all.
The rain has pulled up so only 61% humidity here today.
Thank goodness.

Our usual hot and dry weather today ... and tomorrow ... hopefully the humidity has gone.

I was going to make soap tomorrow, but the forecast is suggesting somewhere in the high 30's ... so may wait till Sunday when it's meant to be in the low 30's. Hate being all sweaty with gloves on!
