I used a meat baller, so the planets are a little big.
I poured soap for the embeds into a couple of small plastic containers. As soon as the soap hardened enough(but didn't gel), I took my meatballer, scooped up the raw soap and with gloved hands made the balls.PrairieCraft said:How are you all doing these round imbeds??!! A meatballer? With soap at a heavy trace?

I collect bathtub soap dishes and have been for the past 20 years. I have at least 4 large storage totes full of them; wrapped in bubble wrap.KD said:Irena, the soap is cute, but I have to say that I love all your bathtub soap dishes. Where do you find this stuff?
That was the part that worried me. My soap gets pretty hard pretty fast. I was afraid if I let the embeds gel first that they would be too hard to roll into balls. I'll have to try it this way next time.GreenScene said:PrairieCraft said:How are you all doing these round imbeds??!! A meatballer? With soap at a heavy trace?
The way I found that worked best for me was to make the soap in the evening, let it gel, unmold the next morning, and roll into balls with bare hands. Otherwise, I couldn't get the balls as smooth as I wanted. The smoothness isn't a big deal if you're embedding them completely, but I wanted mine partially embedded in the top, and it worked quite well.
And I love the planet soap! Very cute.
Thanks! For the next batch, I want the blue darker.dcornett said:So cute!!! I'm gonna have to try these....
