Well, after making soap for almost two years, I have never had a batch seize on me until tonight :( I guess I have learned my lesson about trying too many new things at once on a 5lb batch.

I made a batch of Milk and Honey soap tonight and read somewhere about adding the honey to the lye water so I decided to try it that way instead of adding it at trace since I was also trying something else new by adding heavy cream at trace. Well.....things were going fine until I added my fragrance and almost instantly it began to seize. When I say instantly, that is what I mean! I never even got the chance to add my cream. I know it was not the fragrance because I have made at least 4 batches with it before with no problems. Also, I discounted the water alot to add the cream.

I don't know what came over me trying so many new things all at once, I was asking for problems! Oh well, I used the last bit of my Palm Kernel oil and my order won't be here until next week so there is no soap making going on in my house this weekend :(

I think the discounted water is the main culprit. Some fragrance oils can behave quite well with full water but will seize with discounted water.

You could try the honey and cream without the fragrance to see.

Sorry it stuffed up.
