What do you guys use to get the soap scum out of your bath? Your favorite brand/product.

CLR Bath and Kitchen Cleaner. That's good for every couple of weeks. (we have very hard water here.) If I'm feeling industrious, after using that then I'll use Soft Scrub to make sure it's all gone.

believe it or not, i use the same soap i bathe with. i have an extra poof that is small (just for this) and when i am going to clean the tub, i will go in and get ready for my shower, then just before i shower i wet the poof, rub my soap on it and get it all bubbly the scrub the tub. then i rinse the tub and the poof and take my shower. it is clean, i am clean and i didnt use any awful chemicals... :D

Scrubbing Powder

I make a scrubbing powder with 2/3 baking soda and 1/3 borax (20 Mule Team). I scent it with lemon, tangerine, orange and/or lime EOs, depending on what I have on hand. I spray my tub down with undiluted apple cider vinegar from a spray bottle, then sprinkle on the powder and let it sit a bit. The citris EOs cover the smell of the vinegar and they smell wonderful. After letting it set I scrub down the tub with the scrubby side of a scrubber/sponge. It always cleans the soap scum right off.

I have to try this. Thanks

I love reading people's suggestions for this!

I use baking soda and liquid castile soap, make a paste and scrub with a sponge or brush after I finish bathing. Then I shine with home made window cleaner (ammonia, alcohol and water mix)

I use undiluted vinegar, baking soda, and a small amount of liquid Dr. Bronners. I first spray the bathtub with vinegar & let it sit, being that vinegar is an antimicrobial. Then I add the other ingredients...works like a charm & it's all natural! My husband says he always feels like having a salad when I clean (vinegar dressing) :)

HAHA!

Loved all the suggestions guys, I got myself a scrubbie sponge and some good cleaners and I'm ready to tackle the bathroom today. 8)

I do this too. I keep either a spa glove or a pouff around, dab a little soap on the glove/pouff & just wipe the tub slighly after each use, then rinse.

If the scum is really bad, muriatic acid and water, 50/50 mix agitated with a bristle brush or nylon scrubbing pad. I have a cast iron tub and stainless steel drain so there is no damage done there. Neutralize with a baking soda wipe after rinsing well.
Vinegar for mild cleanings.

You could also get a cheap plastic paint scraper and scrape the soap scum away first before doing anything else. (Did I mention how hard the water is here?)

Mr Clean Magic Eraser. Works surprisingly well. We have moderately hard water and, of course, use handmade soap. Our tub and shower can get pretty scummy.

A good preventative measure is an old towel. We all take our showers in the evening, so I make sure I'm the last. After I shower I dry the walls, tub and shower curtain with an old clean towel. Really cuts down on soap scum buildup.

I mix vinegar, baking soda, Dr. Bronner's liquid soap and water in a spray bottle, very carefully, otherwise you get a volcano. Spray it on and use the 'scrubbie' side of a sponge. Works great!

Baking soda, or if it's really bad, the pink Acid Dairy Detergent I use for cleaning my milk pails. :p That works great for the toilet which is very hard to clean.

I buy it in gallon jugs, so I've always got lots!
