Anyone else do this with their scraps? My kids always love them because I can make small sizes and they are so easy to use.. plus it makes for no waste. I've even taken a bar and grated it up to make one when I ran out during my soaping hiatus. lol

If not.. do you just throw out your scraps and left over beveling pieces? I started keeping them for imbeds until I figured out this.

I'm likely wierd, but that's ok. ha!

well I'm glad I'm not alone! Yours looks so smooth.. do you do your right after unmolding?
I'm lazy and usually bevel before I seal them and then I make the balls so they tend to be bumpy.

I save the trimmings and rebatch it into a new loaf. I call it my ugly soap and it feels even better then the originals that it come from. My family loves getting my uglies as much as my regular soap!

Suzie it helps you detergent soap trace? Do you make a potassium hydroxide liquid soap? I make one but it's just the simple one you can find online and then I change it up a bit. Has borax, dawn, etc. Wish I had the time to try out some liquid recipes.
Rose B that's a good idea! Now if only I could get a good rebatch.. mine are awful (at least the few times I tried it for fun with BB rebatch soap). But I guess that would be ok right since it's a hodge podge anyways. lol I've got about 30 single odd ball bars I have no idea what to do with. You just chop them up and do a crock pot cook with some extra liquid?

Ha ha I do this with edges all time. I spray plastic Easter eggs with Pam, wet and smoosh soap into and then shove the half back together. My boys play with them like basketballs in little goal in shower.

I make them too, and keep them at the kitchen sink so that more then just dish soap is available there. Just the other day my DH said I should not waste more soap making ball shapes because they are too slippery to hold. I had to tell him that they are wholly leftovers that might otherwise go to waste. Two and a half years before he shared this observation?? No matter, I love them!

I make them too, just hate to waste! They are great for testing the progress of soap, and I also keep some by the kitchen sink.

I've started making bigger balls then slicing them in half. Easier to hold onto and they stay on the soap dish better.

sorry but this had me in the giggles.. been reading too many raunchy historical romance books when I should be soaping.

but in all seriousness, its a good idea for the dish, mine do tend to roll around and the kids always seem to have them falling in their sink.

This will be my first embed. Iam making sea salt bar with indigo blue and I blended some eo to get a cold breeze scent. I made a small loaf with just indigo blue. Then I will be making my main soap with TD white and my cold breeze blend, but my question is, by putting the embeds, that will increase my size of the soap, wont it?

The small loft is just under 2 lbs. I wasnt going to embed the whole loaf, I figure maybe half, then again, that might be to much. Any ideas?:?:
