I would like to soap something this weekend, but we're still working on the "Soap House" (only on the weekends). My BIL (who's a CPA) had been helping us every weekend since January, but being tax season, he's a little busy at work right now, so we might be on our own for awhile. This week is putting tape and mudding the screw holes on the sheetrock! What fun! I can't wait to be finished with construction and move into it to actually soap!

OMG, I can only dream about a completely separate/detached from the house/ work space. I'd lock the door and never come out.

When it's finally ready, I might just do that, it's the only way I'm going to be able to get anything done. And no phone interruptions!

I'm spending the weekend with my business partner looking at retail space for our store and crunching more numbers.

I just made liquid soap last night. My 3rd attempt and it looks like it worked. The soap is clear and it is diluting in my croc pot right now. :D This is all for right now because I am out of castor. :(

This is exactly what I am doing. All for me not because of castor shortage, just time ;-)

Orange poppy seed soap ... one of my favourites. I'm hoping to get a batch of lavender oats made tomorrow ... but if it's too hot I'll leave it till next weekend.

Thinking about trying a shea recipe I found in my new book. Yes I ran it thru a calc to make sure I don't end up lye heavy. My weekend is now tue and wed. Wish me luck.

Made some castille and a swirly soap. The swirly soap is the same colors as my last swirly soap. Oops. Didn't mean to dothat. oh well.

:( :( :( Super sad, I may make soap with my picture frames tomorrow but really wanted to make it in my new mold I ordered(because i'm cutting challenged). Been making tons of soy candles instead for people at work and had to order more fragrance oils. Guess at least the weekend isn't a total loss.

Whathave you made or plan to make?

I've tried three new scents (in soap :) ) plus an old favorite, so I've made:
Baby powder, Australian Bamboo Grass, Blackberry Sage and the oldy but goody Gardeners Scrub.
I've still got a couple more new ones to try. I'd like to soap the Mediterranean Fig tomarrow sometime.
(of the above the bamboo is my favorite)

I make 2 batches at a time 4-5 times a week. Tonight I made my first ever HP soap (chamomile) and rebatched some castille that the scent completely died on (Grapefruit). Last night, I did a goats milk basic in a loofa and the night before I made a cedarwood clary sage soap. VERY manly.
I start to lose track of what I have made.

Okay. Here's what I made. I jumped through hoops to get these photos cropped and re-sized. Hope they come through okay. My camera is not the best.

I'm refraining from using my log mold until my dad gets here with my cutter.

Lemon/Lemongrass EO Cupcakes. It may be difficult to see, but they have glitter on top.

Clove/Paprika/Honey Almond EO Whipped Hearts

Chocolate/Peony FO Cupcakes. I know this is a strange combo, but I wanted to test both items so just went for it.

I was a little disappointed after my first try at the cupcake icing (lemon), but after I thought about it for awhile, decided to give it another go. Practiced with some of the leftovers. Can't wait to do the next batch!

No soap making this weekend. I was busy finishing up my soap room and adding the shelves. I am now in the process of going through the rubber maid bins and actually seeing all of the supplies and fragrances I had forgotten I actually had. I was going to place an order this week but I will hold off until I know what I actually have! Soapmaking will resume next week.

Small batch scented with patch, cedar, clove and lime EOs. I tried lavender leaves as a natural colorant and it looks like I'll probably end up with olive drab soap. But it smells great.

Have had a busy weekend! Made a second batch of soap for my parents 50th wedding anniversary coming up and worked on a quilt I'm making for my mom for the anniversary. I'm busy with all this and workin full-time......sometimes 24 hours just isn't enough time!! But I sure do love workin on my crafts, it creates peace inside my soul :D
