I got my TOGS mold before I went away, so I am just getting ready to use it for the first time this weekend. I am going to make a rosemary mint soap, with a light green swirl. I can't wait! I haven't made soap in a few weeks and I am having withdrawals!!

I'll be using Kenneth Cole "Black" type fragrance oil, and coloring it with black oxide. Will be my first attempt at color so we'll see how that goes.

I placed my first order for FO's and received them a week ago. I only ordered 4 but I like them all!!! So now that I have them I gotta start trying them out right? So I'll either be using my sweet pea or papaya FO (w/a little patchouli in there). And I'm gonna add a little honey at trace for a little extra lather

Wish me luck, I'm gonna need it. My last batch was lye heavy and I had to rebatch it. But it actually turned out ok I'll have to say. But I don't want a repeat performance.....

Happy soaping everyone :D

I have a couple of orders to fill...and then I will be making Sweetgrass (with green swirl of alf alfa), dragon's blood (with black swirl), and more lavender with alkenet swirls and then a batch of whipped shea in green garden scent.

Joanne, did you get your FOs from Brambleberry? I ordered some Sweetgrass FO from them that should be coming in next week.... how would you describe the scent?

I'm making a rosemary eo soap right now. I asked in the soap threads if anybody has done it plain, without a base such as sandalwood or patchouli.....no answer yet.

I did make it with lemon and litsea, but now I cannot detect the rosemary. I may just try it on its own.

Besides this, I have a bunch of fo's to try out: clean cotton will be first.....(can't wait to start getting laundry out on my clothesline - love that smell!)

I think my pot will be empty, still waiting on a few FO's in the mean time I will be trying the silicone lining on my wood molds

The rosemary mint sounds cool. Are you blending rosemary and peppermint EOs?

Nope, I got is from WSP, I am pretty sure it is called Rosemary Mint. I was looking for a scent like Bath and body Works Tranquilizing Mint, and this smell pretty much spot on!

im serious, love the contact paper, you can use it over and over.

I think I answered this in another post, but I'm not making anything this weekend. Have a ton of other non-soap stuff planned, but will be still woring with my Soapmaker program and the inventory and then perhaps next weekend I'll be able to play with actual soapmaking. :)

I ordered Soapmaker 3 this week, and I just got finished entering all my supplies, recipes, and inventory, so I can start soaping this weekend. Woohoo!!!

Tomorrow I'm doing a lotus bar (HP). Sunday I'm teaching a friend how to soap, and we'll be ding a CP rose and violet facial bar. I'm so excited! I also want to try an experimental salt bar, possibly with key lime EO, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to get to it this weekend.

Whats a lotus bar?

Sorry - a lotus scented bar. It's very floral, and the lotus is sacred in Hindu culture. Many of the Hindu goddesses are depicted rising from lotus flowers. The EO is outrageously expensive ($500/oz), so I use a lotus fragrance.

Well I just picked up some more lye. Its funny walking in Ace hardware and here someone say "hey so help the soaplady, she needs the lye off the top shelf" I guess I do go in there alot lol

Anyhew..I will be making

Hibicus
Black Amber Lavender
Sandlewood & Ylang
Orange Spice w/Lavender EO

And some of the smaller samples (4)

Daniel, have you tried using charcoal for black coloring? That's what I use, and love it. Just made another batch past weekend this weekend.

Today I made a rosemary lime soap, and the bottom layer in my first ever layered soap attempt. Tomorrow I will grate some of the extra soap from that layer and put it into the top layer like confetti (I hope).
