soap pot this weekend?

what did anyone make? i made black canyon(peakcandle) tan w black lines. and omh(gelluminations) natural color. Cuc/melon(bitter creek).

I made strawberries & champagne with pink/white colors. We'll see how it comes out tomorrow!

I started with making a 2" core of red lard/watermelon. Next batch was a shampoo soap (99% co, 1% joboba, coconut fo) and the 3rd batch was a green lard/watermelon. I had hoped to embed the 2" core in the 3" mold and surround it with the green. Didn't work as I couldn't get it compacted in around the core well enough. I then took all the green off (came off easily as I had forgotten to clean the cooking spray off of core), crumbled it and rebatched. I then put it a layer down in a loaf mold, layed the core in and covered sides and top. Not sure if I like it, turned out interesting. I'll post pics later in the week.

Haven't tried the shampoo bar yet, hair is clean and I figured it wouldn't hurt it to cure for a few days. I did wash my hands with it and it does lather nicely & smells good.

I made my third batch ever this weekend... it was also the first batch I made with additives! Olive oil, coconut oil, shea butter and castor oil with French lavender EO and a bit of colloidal oatmeal for some scrubbies.

I'm waiting on my first big order of EOs from Camden Grey but in the meantime, I picked up a couple EOs at Whole Foods this morning (man, they're expensive when you don't buy in bulk!) and I'm VERY tempted to whip up another batch tonight with some lemongrass and clary sage.


I also just discovered that the Japanese market I've been going to for years has rice bran oil. And it's really, REALLY cheap. Woo-hoo!

My sister accused me of making soap thats too drying. (I love bubbles!) So I did high amounts of olive and shea with palm and only 10% coconut. Coconut milk and honey also. Lavender EO.

1st batch was CO PO Castor Oil OO & Wheatgerm oil fragranced with Coconut Citris Sorbet and coloured the top with Red Oxide.

2nd - CO OO PO with Poppy Seeds and Gardenia FO

3rd - OO CO PO Lavender FO

and i know its Monday now but i'm doing another CO PO OO which i'll be hand milling into some alcohol preps

...what can i say .....I CANT STOP SOMEBODY HELP ME

I've just finished a batch of Shortening, Coconut oil, Grapeseed oil and Castor oil in cphp. Just letting it set up in the mold.

It smells so good (neroli, oriental musk, and cherry blossom), actually, the whole house smells good. My first success (provided it hardens) at this game.

I did liquid soap(lemon lime mandi;musk vanilla;orange spice;rose geranium),a lotion scented with rose geranium & patch,and trialed my tolu/peru balsam mix in a 4 bar batch of cp. Sucess all round, 'cept the orange spice liquid soap is gonna need ps20.

Bummer, bad scale, i have 2 just for that reason.
im waiting for brown boyfrind to come(ups), i have castor cocoa and shea butter coming, going through withdrawls!

vivcarm - have you tried replacing the batteries? I realize this sounds obvious but I went through 2 scales before I, in my most blonde way , figured this out. I guess it worked out ok because now I too have a backup.

Our Wallyworld is open all night in a pinch (making soap at 2am and figured out I was 4 oz short of lard for one batch and not enough to do the next batch :roll: )

Thanks, but it has being playing up for a while - I dropped it and it gave up the ghost and is in bits! :shock: I have enough soap to see me through for years, so I won't go dirty! We'll see if anything is cheap in the sales - Santa comes first at the moment!

do you mind if i ask how you do so many batches in such a short time? i find i can only do a batch a day (if i'm lucky) because i leave my pot and utensils overnight to allow the batter to saponify before cleaning. do you have more than one soap pot? i have one large pot to mix the batter in and a medium and small pot for mixing colours/lye/whatever else.

I made some rose scented soap with pretty pink swirls yesterday Actually I don't care for rose all that much but my mom likes it I am planning on a cherry or apple blossom scented batch today.

another weekend, i made white tea ginger(peak) white with purple swirls on top, its the first real white soap i ever made, hope it stays! Also made lemon pd cake(peak) with orange flecks in it, smells great.

I'll try and have another go with an Orange-Clary Sage Soap that's on my Soap Project list for my cousin's wedding in February.

So far, for this project, I have made: Peppermint-Choco Soap, Oatmeal Milk Honey Soap, Coffee-Eucalyptus Soap, Lavender-Chamomile Soap, and Chamomile-Basil Soap.

I'm thinking of making at least 2 more soaps before this weekend ends but unfortunately I am a little bit low on supplies so I think I will just have to be inventive with the supplies and other ingredients that I can get ahold of. Wish me luck fellow soapaholics!!!

Does anyone know if there's a Canadian soap exchange going on around in this forum?

I'm waiting until sometime this week, my DH would have zero understanding for another batch curing right now as there are already 5 of them sitting out, LOL! I want very badly to make Lemonsugar and Violet and test out "Felicity" (another DS FO). I have an order of luxury oils and butters on it's way too, so I really should wait until they get here...
