I was wondering if anyone could help me to understand what the water discount percentage means under the lye/water tab when entering a new recipe. I want to use a 2:1 water ratio and I don't know how that converts into the water discount percentage.
Also what is the lye solution strength percentage for? Thanks

The water discount is basically your lye strength. So if you were going for a mix that was 50% water & 50% lye you would go to a lye strength solution of 50. Most people start out working with a lye strength of about 33.6 which give you a 1:2 lye:water basis. I personally work at 35% lye strength unless I am doing a castille at which point I will increase it to 40%.
