It is my understanding that true cp soap (free from detergents) with no claims (such as moisturizing or curing acne) does not fall under FDA regulations but is regulated by the Consumer Product Safety Commission. My question is about labeling true cp soap. I know the CPSC gives guidelines on how to label soap, for example the word "soap" should appear on the label, net weight should be stated, etc. Does anyone know if these are merely guidelines or is anything required by law? The CPSC also says to state name and physical address of manufacturing location. How do YOU label your soaps that do not fall under FDA regulations?
