I have been using the same cold process goat's milk recipe in question for 3 years now with no problems, but in December, my batch was so hard in 24 hours, I could hardly cut it. Today, I made 2 more batches (waiting for the first to cool down now). The first batch was made at 9:00am and was almost too hard at 5:00pm. I have absolutely no changes to this recipe and have made it in all kinds of weather. Does anyone have ideas of what is going on? This is my most popular recipe and I have to keep it in stock. HELP!

I accidentally forgot to add the coconut oil to last batch and the same thing happened. When I tried to cut it, the bars crumbled. I didn't realize I forgot to CO until I realized the soap didn't fill the mold to the to do I checked my recipe and added up the amounts. That's when I realized I forgot the co!

I just did this yesterday. I Forgot to add coconut oil which is 20% of the recipe. Did you have to rebatch yours? My Soap is dry and crumbly but almost ok. Now I know I used 1.5 oz too much lye for the recipe. What can I do with it?

Im newish to cp but i noticed a difference in some of my batches and after some trial and error discovered it was the fo. Only batches I made with my blood orange scent hardened in record time and were difficult to cut.

That’s interesting. The fragrance or EOs can be unpredictable sometimes. I used this Bay Rum FO/EO before. I have been soaping for awhile now and never did this before. I am rebatching it in a crockpot. I’m so sad because it was a really pretty tri-color swirl of pink gray and white. Hoping it blends to a nice gray, not an ugly muck color.
