Hi all. I do appreciate the information you all share here. Now I have more questions regarding coloring CP soap.

1. Have you ever used Chromium Oxide, Titanium "Dioxide, Brown Oxide Pigment, or Green Chromium Hydroxide powder pigment?

2. If yes did you like the results?

3. If you did not like the results why?

If the answer is no, do you use something else to color your soaps? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Inquiring minds want to know... Dave

Soap Colours

Dear Dave,
I use Bramble Berry Liquid Dispersions. I always use Titanium Oxide,Brown Oxide and a miriad of other colours. I can't fault them, and it will say what they can be used for e.g. CP. I find that some powdered pigments, not all, end up in the bottom of the shower when washing yourself. Check out their website:

:D

Mackie, thank you for the input. I am very familiar with BB. in fact I should have stock in that company by now...hehehe.....they like me......Dave

I have used powder oxides, I like them. I also have used liquids, and find them easier to work with. Dont use candle color(ask me how I know!).

I've used powdered oxides with no problem. Some people like to suspend the powder in a bit of glycerin first, but I haven't done this personally.

Hi,
I use the oxides. The best technique I've found for using them is to add them to a little bit of carrier oil (you don't have to include this in your lye calculations) and use a milk frother to mix the oxide into the oil. That way, it doesn't have little clumps. I then add this to my soap.

Brambleberry recently started selling a frother for $5. After I bought one on Amazon for three times that much!

Thank you all for your input. This place is a wealth of information. To whoever owns this website thank you. I appreciate being able to post and ask question and I don't have to wait until tomorrow to see if my post is "Approved"
