Hi!

I saw an ad once for a gizmo that could press little leftover bits of old soap into a new bar. Basically you collect all those old little bits of soap that are too small to use, and when you have enough you put them into this plastic press, and it compresses them into a new bar.

I have searched and searched but I can't find this gizmo anywhere. Have any of you folks heard of this item? Or know where I can get it?

Thanks,

i remember years ago.......was it in Harriet Carter or Lillian Vernon? a catalog similar to that anyway. It was raelly a very siple device.....almost like a cup sort of thing that you threw your slivers and leftovers into, and you just screw down the lid and it would compress it for you.

omg.......i cant believe I even remember that! It's been years since I've seen that!!

You should be able to find plenty of instructions on this board about rebatching soap... and I see no reason why you can't do that with leftover soap slivers as well as home made soap that didn't come out quite the way you expected.

I've also heard lots of related ideas like dropping the slivers into a nylon stocking and using that for a makeshift "soap on a rope". Also grating up to make your own laundry detergent.

Or if you can't find such a press perhaps you should invent one and sell it!
