I just did my first fair of the season & it's my favorite. It's local & very busy & just a lot of fun, great vendors & customers. I had one funny customer story though so I thought I'd share. There was this older gentleman who stopped by & picked up one of my brochures. He stood to the side & read my brochure for a while. Then when nobody was around he came up to me & said "you know, I havent used any soap since ahhhh, let's see....1980.....no wait......1972.....& I'm fine! It's because of the chemicals that I quit usin' the stuff". Then he politely tipped his hat & put my brochure back & walked away. I didn't really think anything of it at the time but now that that I've had a chance to digest his comments I laugh every time I think of it!!!! Just thought you all would appreciate the story.

Now my soap....after a really good fair I decided to spoil myself with a batch of 100% olive oil soap infused w/ chamomile. I added ground & whole oatmeal & scented it w/ lavender & patchouli. It was rock hard after 12 hrs & I unmolded it this morning. I can't wait to use it!!!!!! I'm sooo excited!!!!! I've never posted a picture of my soaps on the forum but have been inspired by others courage so here goes!

That customer really needed to try your soap and see what real soap is all about!

Your soap looks wonderful and I bet it will feel lovely on your skin too.

Thanks for sharing! :)

eeks what does he use then?
i though all oo took forever to get hard?

thanks for the replies! I don't know what that man uses, I don't think I acutally took a breath until he left the table

I think 100% OO soaps get hard quickly it's just that they go rather quickly in the shower, I could be mistaken though as this was my first 100% OO soap that I made. I was surprised as to how hard it was when I unmolded it. I can't wait to use it!

I bet your oatmeal drank up your water, that's why it got so hard. My bars with added oatmeal seem harder too. Nice soap!
I don't know what to say about the gentleman.

Your soap looks great.

So, did the bloke stink?

Soap is just a bonus to wash with. If you had to, just warm water and a flannel will do the job quite nicely. Don't tell anyone I said that though.

It must have been the oatmeal that soaked up all the water as these babies are like hockey pucks!!!!

No the bloke didn't stink, of course I had all my soaps under my nose so I don't think I could have smelled much else anyway! :p

thank for the compliments...counting down the days till I can try it!
