I love love love election season - at the beginning.
Being a big nerd I start anticipating Super Tuesday right after Christmas! By the time election day arrives I am so totally sick of it.
However, the next day - the day after I sat up all night watching maps and biting my nails - well that's my favorite day! Neither Candidate was my first or second choice and who I voted for doesn't matter.
But, I'm an American - Red White and Blue, and the realization of what we, as a country, just did is amazing.
Just the fact that we can vote, however we want, for whomever we want and for whatever reason we choose. It leaves me breathless, in awe of our Forefathers and the wisdom they possessed, leaving us a legacy greater than we can imagine.
It's kind of like New Years - my favorite holiday. You get to start over, wipe the slate, Finnegan Begin Again, all that...
I guess what I'm saying is: We are all Americans, we will continue to prosper, hurt feelings will soothe, harsh words will fade, we will come together and grow strong, iron out our differences, find a middle ground, blah blah blah and in 4 more years - we get to do it AGAIN~
