As I already mentioned in this post, I had a FAIL. I kept thinking I could redo my entry, but my horse colicked last Saturday the 11th and I've been on emergency horse duty ever since. I am still planning to rebatch my failed entry, but as stated....haven't had that window of time yet. Now the holiday and of course I need to shop, bake, cook, decorate. So I don't think I will have time for that right now either. Offer me some cheese for my whine, pls. 😆

Since I posted pics already, these are the follow-ups. First is the remelt in the crock pot. Second is what I did with that batch after remelting it and adding a LOT more red mica. Third is the unmolded loaf. It's really soft. I'm going to let it sit for a while and then make the decision whether to rebatch it or toss it. I believe I need more WHINE, please.
🍷🍷🍷 Here's your wine! Cheers!

Hi everybody....
Everything went as planned. But I changed my pouring sequence last minute. Should have kept the TD for last color poured.
Not very forgiving. You really have to pull the tool straight. I can see where I dragged the tool. To position for the next plunge. But overall came out straighter. Then I thought it would. Color percentages, used 40,30,15,15. Green, TD, Gold, Blue.
Maybe 10% for the accent colors. Next time around. Also, would use a regular coat hanger. Mine is 3x Thicker. I love the simplicity of this blue toned example. And will try this one next. Thanks again.

@Tammyfarms I love your not-actually-splash-swirl soap! I'd like to be able to make a batch like that on purpose ;)
Thanks! I really love it too.

I'm going to try making my third attempt tonight my hip has been killing me the past few days so I haven't got around to making it yet! I'm out of Swirling F/Os but I found a fragrance I haven't tried yet and the reviews say it's good for CP soap making and that it doesn't accelerate so I'm hoping it works I'm a little nervous about it but I'm going to try it and work as fast as I can. In the past I have bought F/Os that say they don't accelerate but they still thickened pretty fast. So here I go off to start pouring my oils and oh I love the entries posted so far very nice.🌟
If you haven’t made your soap already, what about not putting the FO in your swirling colors? That may give you a little more swirling time.

Tammyfarms, love your entry! Also that you included your inspiration picture, it was so pretty and so clearly connected to your design.
@dibbles, just wanted to check that we make all comments here and only put entries on the other thread? I mixed it up last time and may still be confused.
Thank you! Occasionally things turn out as planned. 😂

I was thinking the same - it’s gorgeous.
Awww. Thank you!

Awe that's to bad about your horse and your soap I hope things work out for you.🙂

Can anyone tell me how to embed a big photo in the entry thread like everyone else has done? When I attach mine they all end up as these teeny thumbnail pics. I hate being an idiot about this stuff.
Once you attach, you’ll see a little “insert” on the left of the tiny pic. I select the Thumbnail option so it’s not huge.

So my third attempt didn't work the F/O accelerated it would of worked for pouring layers and that's about it. I don't understand these reviews 5 people said it's great for CP soap making and the soap supplier said no acceleration I had like 30 seconds before it became to thick and these soap suppliers say they soap at 110°F I soaped at 90°F with a very slow moving recipe and barely got it in the mold on time. This has happened to me so many times that I'm not going to believe my soap suppliers or reviews anymore. From now on I'm sticking to citrus F/Os and E/Os well lesson learned I guess. So I spoon swirled my soap to try and save it I hope it turns out nice. Also my first attempt is no good to enter either because I didn't follow the in instructions properly it has 3 colors but only one accent color so I don't know what to do I might try again we will have to see!🙂

I'm blown away by the entry photos! Wowza, people!

Game plan laid out. Colors are picked. Oils/lye are ready to dance in the morning.
Never thought one could stress. Over choosing a few colors. My biggest fear....
Pulling wire hanger side ways. Like a regular swirl.
There's a haiku in there somewhere, Fordy, love the oils & lye are ready to dance!

So, I didn't enter but you guys have got me intrigued so here is my attempt #1 fresh from the mold and cut. Definitely not as "swirly" as needed, but many lessons were learned in the process. It smells good anyway. :) Thank you guys who openly share your successes and your fails and what you learn along the way. You push me to try new things...and fail...but learn. On to attempt #2.

So even though I have had 3 fail attempts I'm still very happy about how they turned out. I know I was a little up set that another F/O I had accelerated on me and my batter got to thick I turned it into a spoon swirl and it looks and smells wonderful the F/O is Bird of Paradise. My first attempt I didn't follow the directions properly and I only used one accent color red with a grapefruit F/O sent. So I will have lots of Christmas soap presents that I'm happy about!👍 My second attempt I posted earlier in this feed with the green that accelerated on me was lemon lime and ginger F/O. If everything goes according to plan I will try my 4th attempt tomorrow lol😊

Wow! Both of these look amazing! Is the 'camo' soap the Bird of paradise? Or the lemon lime? I really like it! I have used Bird of paradise before and it's a lovely fragrance ( can't remember if it accelerated or not).

The Bird of Paradise is the blue brown and black the first photo. It does smell really good it didn't accelerate to fast for layers it would be really good for layers but not swirling. It needs to be poured right away after mixing it in. Thank you so much and I used your spoon swirling method I learned from you too to fix it lol. @KiwiMoose
