My wife called laughing yesterday because she received a bar of CP at work as a gift and found it humorous because of the amount of time I put in to researching the exact item she had just been gifted. After she stopped laughing about the irony she told me she would bring it home for me to critique...
So here we go... WHEW BUDDY!
My sinus' were pouring just after opening the end of the nicely and professionally packaged "All Vegetable Oil with EO's of Lavender and Jasmine" and taking a whiff. It was fairly strong just sitting on the counter unopened and then unleashed it's power on my olfactory nerves as soon as I opened it. The scent was so strong I quickly closed the paper back with the label I had just cut and tossed it on the counter. Maybe it's just me but I'd prefer anybody using my soap not to have an allergic like reaction because the scenting is so strong. The bar was 10.5oz and white as snow. Had no official ingredients list on it so I couldn't tell which vegetable oils were actually used in the making but I'm not sure I'll even allow this to sit on a shelf at our house without being in a plastic bag let alone be used. I didn't take it out of the packaging because of the initial reaction so I can't tell much more about the actual bar of soap.
My nose hasn't crossed paths of too many CP soaps but is this the norm of what people expect? Maybe I'm overreacting but I had something a little more subtle in mind when making my soaps which I'm very new at. I can live with the smell as long as the soap is gifted and out of my house ASAP!
