its been awhile and i am getting ready to order essential/fragrance oils. im seeing a company named Siva.
has anyone used their oils for cp soap making? thank you guys for your imput, i am just starting to check my 3 suppliers from the past and saw this company on amazon.

It's hard to know if a supplier on Amazon is reputable or not. Here's their stand-alone website: https://www.svaorganics.com/collections/essential-oils

I'd compare their prices and consumer reviews with similar products from other suppliers who have a decent reputation, such as New Directions.
There are no reviews on the site; also problematic for me is there are no Certificates of Analysis. (There are several oils I won't buy without that info, esp. production date and specs for IFRA.)
Troubling too is they list oils from Russia, which have been sanctioned by the EU and other places.. and those specific oils are available from Canada and Europe production, but they only list the Russian ones. Seems odd.

@jodym , when I first started making soap in 2023, I started out with M&P. I bought all my supplies on Amazon, including essential oils. I just looked at my purchase history and I did purchase one 4oz bottle of SIVA's lavender essential oil. It seemed to work just fine- that said, I only used it in M&P.

It seemed strong enough and it was reasonably prices. It looks like I paid $9.99 for 4 oz. There were other brands of lavendar EO on Amazon that cost $9.00 for 1 oz (and even $9.99 for .5 oz). I assume that there must be a difference in quality. Since I have never again purchased lavender essential oil, I don't have anything to compare it to. Since I've started to CP, I only buy Fragrance Oils. I understand that EO's don't make it through the saponification process quite as well, and since you have to use 2x as much in CP as in M&P, I only buy FO's.

I just looked on Wholesale Supplies Plus. They have lavender EO 40/42 for $19.95 for 4oz (on sale for $15.96 at this moment for 4 oz) and lavender EO 30/32 for $51.45 (on sale $41.16 for 4 oz ) and Bulgarian lavender for $28.95 (on sale $22.86 for 4 oz). If you buy a 16oz bottle, the prices are alot less.

I don't really have anything to compare my lavender essential oil to. On Amazon, SIVA has just under 12K ratings and they get 4.5 out of 5 stars. However, it could have been bought for purposes other than soaping. It looks like alot of ratings were for essential oil being used in diffusers.

So, I would say SIVA is reputable for at least some purposes. I stopped buying on Amazon when I learned that the coconut essential oil I bought (which was $9.99 for 4 oz) could not have been essential oil since that doesn't really exist :( - or if it does, it would be astronomically expensive.

If you've used lavender EO in the past, and you know what you should be able to expect, then you don't have much to lose by trying it as Amazon lets you return purchases within a certain timeframe.
