As a seller, can you add delivery confirmation with the the shipping fee? For example lets say it costs $2.50 for shipping a product and it costs .80 for delivery confirmation, which would come out to $3.30. Now can i set $3.30 as my shipping fee to the customer? the reason i ask this is that some customers may claim that they never received their order and because there is no proof of delivery i either would have to send them another order at my expense or refund their money when in reality they did receive their order. I feel that if this were to happen then i would loose out on my products and money. And i think that would not be fair to me.

I would say there is nothing wrong with adding that to your shipping charges. You do need to see what your competitors are doing. If you charge .50 more for shipping than everyone else it could impact sales. If you set up a commerical account with usps.com and send a package with priority mail and print from online you get delivery confirmation for free. I have only had 1 person dispute delivery and that was resolved quickly.

It is your business, you can change anything you feel is fair. Some people add an additional handleing fee as well.

Several soap supply compnaies add a small order fee, such as $5.00 for all orders under $50.00. That irks me.... but people do it.

If you ship through paypal, delivery confirmation is free on all priority packages. They also give you a small discount, 3%, 5%, I don't remember exactly how much.

FYI, if you sign up for a USPS online account and print your shipping labels from the site, the delivery confirmation is free. You spend a little more on toner and paper, but it's worth it. It also saves a trip to the post office, since you can place small boxes in the mailbox, or schedule a pickup.

yup, print (and pay for) your postage through USPS.com and not only is delivery confirmation free, but you get that discounted price. even better, the mail carrier will pick the package up at your door for no fee (just be sure to schedule it through the site, tho most carriers will take it anyway).

I print onto labels but you can just as easily do it onto paper and tape the paper to the box.
