Shelf life of EO's and FO's?

What's a general rule for the shelf life of EO's and FO's? Is there a shelf life? I saw someone offering to sell some EO they've had since 2006.

I've got some EOs and FOs that are 10 years older or more. Only one FO had gone off.

I've got FO's 4-5 years old and most have done just fine. I think it all depend on how you store them.
