A salon wants me to provide their shampoo (YIPPEE!). What are good salon scents for a shampoo base? Obviously appealing to everyone.

THX!

You brat....you didnt tell me this! :::smack!::
Congratulations!!! I'm so happy for ya!!! Yay!

HA! If i could remember the moon icon, I would give it. <3 (is that it?)

We have been talking about it for a while. I just need to get off my butt and do it. (have we not talked a lot recently about FOCUS?)

:::smack::: well taken :D

Hmm! Glad I asked! Good variety! I think I will get a variety and see what she thinks. I am also going to be selling them as individuals. Yippee!! Thanks guys! Keep those ideas coming!

For my hubby I usually buy him fruity ones like strawberry. I had an icy pineapple and cotton fragrance which was an herbal essence dupe. That was a nice, fruity pineapple. The last one I bought for DH was a green tea shampoo by VO5, which almost had an apple undertone.

For me, I'm into the creamier, richer fragrances. Tahitian vanilla is very creamy smelling. My shea butter conditioner almost has that cocoa buttery hawaiian tropic scent. I know those are conditioners, but I think that could cross over to shampoo too. My other one is minty, but not rosemary. It's by John Frieda and it's like a sweeter mint. Totally hard to explain, but they all smell high-end to me. I've seen an FO called avocado mint and the description recommends blending it with vanilla or the green tea FO. That sounds yummy to me!

Avocado mint!!! Where did you see that??? That sounds really interesting!

It's from The Original Soap Dish site. They ship sooooo fast to me it's crazy. I just like that I can order small quantities from them. So far their fragrances have been nice. They aren't strong ones, but that's good for me. Sometimes having too many choices can be overwhelming. Here, it seems to have just good old basic fragrances.

I've actually tried a lot of FOs from their site and I don't get headaches from them. Another good one is the rice flower and shea type. Maybe not for soap since it's very soft, but I put it in my lotion base and just LOVE it. I even mixed it with some vanilla too. It mentions it's good for hair care products.

I like the sage & citrus suggestion.

Lemongrass is one of my favorites. It's clean, bright and ... smells wonderful.

Just an idea.

Best of luck with your order!

You know what I would say for a shampoo scent..... MAKE IT SMELL LIKE BEER!

Bruce

Yeah, your soap smell delish! I don't think it necessarily smells like beer, tho! I know you won't give up your secret

are you making the shampoo yourself or using a base?

congrats on the sale!!

Thanks! Using a base. No way I could make that much shampoo!

those are awesome suggestions!

Can't remember

I can't quite remember, and if i was home I would go check, but Aveda has this awesome shampoo, and I believe it is made with Rosemary EO. I bought some and even though I love the smell I haven't used it, but i do open and smell it a couple times a week.... (yes, I'm a bit strange lol). I will check tonight when I go home and let you know.

First, a big congrats!

As far as scents go, I love coconut and tropical stuff at the salon. A nice ocean scent is always nice.
