This thread is to see if there is enough interest to run a co-op.

I just got a quote from SFIC. Here is the break down:

I just figured the cost on the shea base for the sake of crunching numbers.

Average cost is approx $3.12 for 1# pound of shea soap at an online retailer.

If I ordered 250# & figured in the shipping then divided by 250, each pound would end up costing approx $2.50.

We would save about .62cents per pound.

Savings on the whole 250# would be $155.00.

Savings on 25# would be approx $15.00.

Would it be worth it to host a co-op?

Who would need how much?

If we did a co-op I would offer probably 5 different bases, maybe more.

Clear
White
Olive Oil
Castile
Goat's Milk
Oatmeal
Aloe Vera
Honey
Low Sweat Like Cold Process
Low Sweat Clear
Shaving Soap
Shea Butter
Hemp Seed Oil
Cocoa Butter
Crystal Clear
NEW Organic Oil Clear
NEW Organic Oil White

We could also buy 5 gallon mini drums of the following liquid bases & I just estimated what the prices might be.:
Hand and Body Lotion $54.00 ($10.80 a gallon)
Hand Cream $66.00 ($13.20 a gallon)
Bubble Bath $54.00 ($10.80 a pound)
Bath and Shower Gel $68.00 ($13.60 a gallon)
Cocoa Butter Lotion $76.00 ($15.20 a gallon)
Liquid Soap $54.00 ($10.80 a gallon)
Shampoo $63.00 ($12.60 a gallon)

Those are excellent prices on the bases. I am paying about $20.00 a gallon for my lotion & shower gel right now from other sources!

Please respond to this thread by stating which items you might like & how much.

EX) 25 pounds of assorted soap, I like shea, cocoabutter & shaving, maybe some hemp, maybe 5 gallons of bubble bath.

Remember, this is just to see if there is enough interest, if there is another sales thread will be started.

I'm thinking about a few bases like the bath and shower gel and shampoo. So I'm interested. I make everything else.

I think we need more CO-OP's here! Good you you, Tab. I started the first one the Kpangnan Butter, and every so often an established qualified member should try a CO-Op. Sorry to get a little off base, Tab, but wanted to say kudos to you! Other forums do this stuff all the time, I felt like we need to also! :D

Paul...

I'd be interested, but I'm pretty much small potatoes. Maybe 5lbs or so of assorted M&P.

I'm interested in the liquid bases!! But in small amounts haha... I'm small potatoes also!

Ex.
2 gallons hand and body lotion base
2 gallons bubble bath base
2 gallons shampoo base

And possibly a pound or two of the shaveing m&p base and low sweat clear.

The price per gallon on the liquid bases would have to go up about a dollar a gallon if I have to buy bottles to re-bottle them into . It's no problem, just making a note of that.

Thats still a pretty good price for the liquid bases!

I would be interested in the following bases, but would like to know more about the ingredients that make up the bases. I'm looking for SLS-free bases for shampoo, shower gels, etc..

What's the website, so I can check them out?

Bubble Bath $54.00 ($10.80 a pound)
Bath and Shower Gel $68.00 ($13.60 a gallon)
Cocoa Butter Lotion $76.00 ($15.20 a gallon)
Liquid Soap $54.00 ($10.80 a gallon)
Shampoo $63.00 ($12.60 a gallon)

Unfortunately there might be a co-op going on for another forum that I've agreed to do if it goes. If it doesn't, I'll sign up for this one.

I might be interested as well in the shower gel and the bubble bath.
Are these concentrated or do you just add fragrance to them.

And yes Brian if you could share the ingredient list as well, and pass it on to the rest of us that would be awesome!!!!

What's the difference between liquid soap and bath/shower gel?

No problem Bret.

Faithy, They are ready to go bases, just scent & bottle

I would like 5lbs each base:

Clear
White
Castile
Goat's Milk
Honey
Shea Butter
Cocoa Butter

I would like to try 1 gallon of this to see how I like it.
Bath and Shower Gel

I don't think we are getting these numbers up high enought o do a co-op. Minimuns are 50# per soap type.

I am not calling it off, just sayin' we need more interest before we commit.
