I have recently been invited to sell my soap in a local business. I have no idea about how to offer them pricing or anything like that! Do any of you have suggestions about what type price break I should offer them so that they can still make a profit? Also, are there any other things I should be aware of before I go forward with this?

Thank you.

The way most people do it is figure out the cost of the ingredients to make your soap. Multiply that by 4 for your retail cost. So if it costs you $1 to make a bar of soap, charge $4 when you sell it.

For wholesale you would do 2x the cost of ingredients. So you would sell your bars for $2 each.

You don't make as much profit selling wholesale, but you can do good if you require a large-ish minimum order.

I recently got my first private label order and I charged them the wholesale price, plus a "label design fee". I factored in a little "extra" into the design fee so that I would make more money, and gave them a minimum order requirement of 100 bars.
