Hi all! I haven't posted in awhile but I had quite an experience and wanted to share. I made a salt bar with 80% CO and sea salt at 100%.. Well I got to light trace, added BB's Salty mariner and immediately turned to THICK oatmeal consistency! I quickly mashed in my salt and colorant before glopping everything into the mold! Phew! I think my heart is still pounding... Soap was ready to cut in 30 minutes! It's not so pretty, but it's a super hard bar already and smells great.

Not so pretty??? That's GORGEOUS! It makes me think of lake beaches, and beautiful cool summer days with sunshine and clouds in the perfect balance, and the sand and the water and maybe a canoe trip and trailing a hand in the water and yea.......that's awesome soap.

I agree, it is beautiful. I couldn't get wispy swirls like that if I tried. I've been wanting to try salty mariner, I have wax tarts I bough at a craft fair with that scent and I just love it.

Been there and done that. Salty Sea Air from soapsupplies.net does the same thing. I think your bars look fantastic, reminds me of waves with white caps. My last seized batch of salt bars actually ended up on of my favorites. Had to do what you did smoosh and mix thin smash in the mold. I kept one bar from the batch because I loved how the colors turned out.

They look great! I love the "wave" effect you achieved. I tried to do that exact thing today but my batter was too runny so ended up with just blue. Pretty enough but not eye catching like yours!

Thanks all!

Yes, it's Brambleberry Salty Mariner. It smells really great but be careful because it moves fast! I should have re-read the reviews before I tried a salt bar with it.

That is great looking salt bar. I havent made salt bars in ages so might have to get onto it.

Very well done indeed.
