What I’ve been up to lately wise. ❤


Each made with a different recipe & in some cases different oils. Made a ratings chart for bubbles, lather, creaminess, scent rated 1-5 & had my family (once cured) lather up with each & score them. Sadly I had not yet seen ZNSC or it would have been one. The black, brown, purple is an “Almost Castile” with only a touch of castor but was not included in tests as it is still curing.

The chunky purple (4th from top) with GV short, CO, castor, canola, sunflower & coco butter was voted most creamy overall score 3.6/5. Why I made a soap with that many ingredients is beyond me?!
The raspberry cream soap rated highest overall 4.0/5 (6th from top). GV shortening, OO, CO & castor.
The steak rated lowest. Was truly a terrible recipe but a huge hit with the middle school students! Didn’t adhere to a 60/40 formula. Sat/Unsat 27/73! However rated 4/5 for cleansing.
Lemongrass swirl (3rd from top), raspberry cream & Juniper berry (5th from top) all were rated 4/5 on lather.

I got a bit over zealous in posting photos because last two (orange nectar & tootsie roll) are new soaps & haven’t finished curing. I made ZNSC (with castor coconut tweak) today. Will have the fam do some more testing soon!

The bottom bars aka Tootsie Roll, because that’s exactly what they smell like, & the second to last Island Nectar f/o swirl are both low CO (my skin is both dry & somewhat sensitive) with 10% castor. I tested the end slivers today AND… I AM thrilled, so far anyway. Added 1tsp each: coconut milk powder, sugar & salt in em’ too (22oz oils)

65%lard;15% CO & RBO & 5%castor
Unscented & uncolored. 2 tsp. each ground oats & goat milk powder. I’m always fascinated by gel phase & color. I used the small silicone stand alone mold from NS. Used heating pad 30 min & wrapped per usual. I kinda like the non-gel white honestly.

Spring Break/Soap Spree week. Yesterday, I went to a friend’s house to make some soap. She wanted to see & make a small batch vs 15lb group project soap she participates for X-mas. We some made ZNSC soap.

Today @ home was a lardy lard day making another small batch using 65% lard & according to bottle, an accelerating FO (NS~All Soul’s Day). Intended to make a yellow & orange ITPS & ended up making a brown & yellow, maybe? We shall see. Oh the fun of soap making! Here’s the top!

Here is the cut. I do think this “design” matches the NS-All Souls Day FO better than orange would have.
