Hi everyone

It literally has been years since I was last on this forum I think. I recently returned to the old hobby and I am wondering a few things.

I make a lovely almond lotion recipe. Recently I have felt the need to make the viscosity a little runnier (is that a word?). Ideally I want to put it in a little roll on container and have it dispense like roll on.

So I'm wondering what will make it runnier? Should I halve the e-Wax and stearic acid? I currently do a 3% stearic Acid and 5% Emulsifying-wax to 80% Water and 20% oil if that makes sense.

Which would be the thing that I should cut back on - the stearic acid or the ewax? I'm thinking the stearic acid since you need e-wax to emulsify it right?

I stopped buying in bulk and this is a personal project with limited supplies left so I'd rather ask for help than waste the precious supplies I have left experimenting.

Hope someone can help!

I normally increase my water amount when I want to make a thinner lotion, and decrease some of my oils to compensate. But that's just me.

Thanks Irish Lass - will give it a shot.

I remember you from before - I think you troubleshot some bubblebar or bath fizzy woes for me before - maybe???

You're welcome. :)

Nope, I can't take the credit for that. I've never made a bubblebar or fizzy in my life. At least not yet, anyway.

you could also remove the stearic acid. Stearic is quite powerful stuff and 3% will make your lotion pretty thick.
