I've heard a lot of people talk about using vitamin E in their formulas. I don't happen to have any, but I do have Rosemary Oleoresin Extract. Does anyone regularly use that in place of Vitamin E? I wonder which is better...?

I hope you are talking about using then as antioxidants. While technically antioxidant is a type of preservative, generally the word preservative is used for things that protect against molds and bacteria.

Vit E and ROE have no significant efficacy against molds and bacteria, tho they are decent antioxidants. Which is better I'm not sure, but I use the E (aka mixed tocopherols).

Yes, I'm sorry I didn't clarify. I'm thinking of them simply as an antioxidant.

I use both. I use ROE for its ability to "protect" the oils and Vit E for its ability to protect my skin. So to speak.
