Good Morning, all, missed you yesterday!

I recently bought some Rose lip balm flavor oil from Sweetcakes. The thought of Rose lip balm just seemed so attractive to me. I want to give some to my Mom (she loves Rose), girlfriends and DD for a Valentines Day, along with some pretty heart soaps I made. Valentines Day is such a good excuse to make stuff :)
Anyway, I have some pretty pink mica that is lip safe, so I'm really keen on giving it a try.

The only thing is, Sweetcakes doesn't have a usage percentage listed on their website. I know MMS recommends in between 2-4% for flavor oils, do you think It would be ok if I just keep it at 3%? Thanks for any advice!

So, I'd start at 1% just to be on the safe side.

Thank you for that Genny! :D I just recieved some flavor oils from them and have been searching for their recommended usage rates to no avail...until now. You're a peach! Boy, you would think they would put the info right out in front on their flavor oil page instead of burying it as a small blip on the radar in the FAQ page. Oh well.... color me happy now. :)

I usually use MMS's flavor oils (which are wonderful, btw), but I saw that SC had some really unique flavors I hadn't ever seen or tried before, and well... I gave into temptation.

I bought these:

Rose
Peace of Mind (Origins-type)
Jasmine Blossom Tea
All Natural Apple
Watermelon
Gummy Bear
Coconut Lemongrass
Honeysuckle Nectarine
Chai Tea

IrishLass :)

It is strange that the info isn't listed on their Flavor Oil page :?:
I only knew where it was because I ordered from them about a year ago and had to search and search to find the info.

I bought a bunch of their oils a while back. They have some really unique flavors. The rose tends to be a like it or hate it for people. I really like it! There were a couple of dupes, like Origins, they were all good. I wish they had small bottles. I use so little 1/2oz would last years!

I thought so.

I want the Origins one, I should have gotten it! Oh boy, I hope I like the Rose.

I think you will love the rose, it was the people who couldn't grasp the idea of rose as a lip balm. You know those ones who just can't experiment! It is a nice rose.

I liked the rose at first but after a week I hated it. I don't know if it is because the scent morphed in my lip balm or if I just realized I didn't like it.

I just thought I would chime in, because I've bought a few of those fragrances, and the amount you need to use to get it to smell nice really varies:

Peace of Mind (Origins-type): 1-3% depending on how minty you like it
Jasmine Blossom Tea: 3%+ this one smells very light
All Natural Apple: 2-3% this one is very middle of the road as far as strength goes
Chai Tea: I like this one at 3%.

Finally got time to fragrance my lip balm mixture. I used just under 1%- thank you to Genny & carebear- I for sure would have used more) It smells fabulous, and I do LOVE it!

Hope my friends like it as much as I do, thanks again for the help.
