Since my first batch of soap dough was from a seized batter stuffed in to a container it contained sl and sugar and@Firefly24 and @dibbles , The Soap Artist said Sorcery Soaps and recommended books and videos her. So, among the other videos I watched the other evening was one by Sorcery Soaps. She seems extremely creative, I don't think I'd ever watched any of her videos before.
It is really helpful to hear the little variations, details, and deviations of what everyone does. It drastically cuts down the number of videos I'd need to watch to gain the same insights.
@bookworm42 - Yes!!! my exact experience!! The easier it looked, the more I suspected a chaos monster around the corner!
@Firefly24 and @dibbles - kind of a difference in when each of you unmolds...
Do others also leave out salt and/ or sodium lactate to avoid unnecessary hardness?
I thought I'd get ahead of the game for soaping this weekend and measured my oils last night, then mixed my water, sorbitol and salt this morning.
I didn't even think about the hardness factor. I can toss the water and start over with it. What do others do in terms of salt or sodium lactate?
GM. . My intentional recipes are high in palmic and stearic hence hardness is not an issue! NO AIR IS A BIG ISSUE! ! I I increases caster from 5 to 10. The rest of my recipe is a balence between hard and soft. You most likely have a good recipe for that. Dont over think it
