Never heard of it here in the UK. My dd is still in nappies, and we use unscented wipes.

Issues aside - I think that it's a good idea to make your own if you can - that way, you can put customise it specially for your baby's own needs.

M&P with some EO (lavender is baby friendly - just not too strong) might be the easiest for you. That way, you don't need to make huge batches. So it'd be easier to change anything. There are SLS free bases, and others to choose from. If you use CP or HP, you'd need to make a larger batch. Also, the consistancy might be a little hard. M&P might be soft enough to dissolve quicker.

Hope you find a solution. :)

:? Do they use this as a leave on product? They don't wash away the soap afterwards?
Also, when baby has a rash; soap is really not okay to use...
What happened to washing babies bum with some warm water?

I'm not making a judgment on whether or not you should make and sell the stuff. I just don't see the point of the whole shebang.

I am not planning to sell this, I just wanted to make them for my personal use and save money.
I have tried using just water but I use flannel wipes and for some reason the water but it just does not work as well. I have even tried using dry wipes but the seem to harsh on a sensitive baby bottom (I use flannel) I have also tried other bottled wipes solutions that are very expensive like kissaluvs diaper lotion potion but my son cried everytime I sprayed his bottom with it or even just sprayed it on a wipe.
The wipes cubes work well for us and I just wanted to make some more so I know whats in them and dont have to pay a lot for just a few ounces of cubes.

Have you tried a bit of body lotion or oil on your flannel whipes?
I used to use apricot kernel oil when my ds had a rash but he hasnt had one since I switched to cloth diapers 02/08 so its been a while. I guess I could use that again, it did clean very well but I always made such a mess with it!

Maybe you could try to make oil based bum cubes instead of soap based ones?
Usually this type of product is made wit 1 part hard oils such as coconut, one part soft oils like apricot kernal and one part beeswax.
With an emusifier added to mix with the water you use for your wipes. I'm sure you'll find a lot of recipes for solid lotions, lotion bars, bath melts/cubes, shower melts/cubes...
That way you could use them the way you're used to, but without leaving a rinse-off product on your boy...
Just an idea :p

I did some googling & found the booty cubes & several other brands as well. It does just look to be soap & water in a fancy jar. I would stear clear of fragrance oils for babys bottom.

Thanks, thats a great idea, I didnt even know products like those existed. Off to search for recipes. Thanks again!
ETA I think I am going to try a lotion bar and see how it works if I just wipe the clean wipe over it and then use it on my baby. Know of any good lotion bar recipes that are easy and soothing but mild enough for a little one.

Lotion bars are very easy to make , if you do a search here or google it you will find tons of recipes . Lots of recipes are 1/3 oil, 1/3 butter and 1/3 wax. I would post mine but I think you could find a recipe better suited for baby skin . If you need some help , let me know :D

Castille, with or without additives like shea, calendula, vitamin E, etc..

or lotion bar bits, for an oil-based solution.
