Hello, I have been buying cloth wipes cubes and have a feeling what I am buying is just mp soap w/ fragrance. Does anyone know what I can use to make cubes for cloth wipes that is gentle and soothing for a baby behind? Thank you!
Yes, I REALLY do! So I could just do a batch of 100% oo and cut it up into cubes. Would it hurt to add shea butter or anything like that?Vinca Leaf said:Yeah, it's M&P with fragrance/oils added to it. Don't you feel had?
I use cloth wipes instead of disposable baby wipes. The wipes cubes are dissolved in water and used to wet the wipes for cleaning baby's behindscarebear said:what are cloth wipe cubes?

I dont just let the wipe solution sit around for ages, it sits maybe 3-4 days at most but the cubes I have now have gse so i am pretty sure there isnt much bacteria growing in there. My wipes cubes are not colored either but are scented lightly with Oatmeal milk and honey that smells nothing like any of those.carebear said:CP soap may turn slimy as it dissolves. I'm thinking... ewww!
OK so you don't want to use disposable wipes. But why choose a scented and colored product (as many seem to be), and why in the deity of your choice's name would you want to have a bucket of soapy water sitting around? That sounds about as sanitary as... well not. Keep it warm so you can grow your buggies comfortably?
What ever happened to a bar of soap and a wash cloth?

I never even mentioned anything about a wipe warmer. I was just asking for recipe ideas.xyxoxy said:So if I understand correctly these are the newest thing in "going green"?
At least that's what some of the ads I've read imply.
I guess leaving an electric warmer plugged in 24/7 saves more trees than disposable wipes... but is it really... better... when you consider the carbon impact?
Not trying to start a debate... just honestly curious since this is the first I've heard of such a thing.
Is there really any science to this or is this just the latest way to make money off of our environmental guilt?
My mom just ran a washcloth under the tap and my 3 brothers and I lived to tell about it.
