I made a batch on 7-8 that is still really soft. It had over heated and separated so I had to rebatch it almost immediately. It going to be a soft bar anyways but I had expected it to harden a bit more by now, its still the consistency of cream cheese.
I don't know if I should wait longer to see what it does or if I should rebatch with some steric acid. If I do use steric acid, how much should I use? Do I have to melt it into a oil or can I just melt it alone?

crisco 16 oz
castor 1.9 oz
coconut oil 3 oz
shea 1oz

goat milk 8.32 oz
lye 2.87

I ran it through soap calc, and it gives your recipe a 29 for hardness. Which is within range. the lye and liquid amounts are ok.
Could you o into more detail about this. It had over heated and separated so I had to rebatch it almost immediately

I made it with GM and tried to gel it, it got way too hot. It turned caramel colored and developed oil filled pockets so I placed it in the fridge to stop gel. Once it set up, I cut it and the FO just ran out. There were pockets of soft oils and others of FO. I let it sit to see if the oil would reabsorb but its didn't. I could squeeze the bars and more FO came out. I squeezed as much as I could out, then cut it up and reheated. It sat up good and no more oil separation but is soft.

when it was gelling, you can see the oil just starting to come to the surface

Some of the smaller pockets.

I think I would chunk it up and throw it in the crock pot just until it is melted and mixed and slam it in a mold..Sorry that happened.

I don't think that cooking it again would help much. I'd just wait it out. Set the bars flat and flip them every couple of days. They may warp a little but should be usable.
