For the past few weeks I've had this weird awful looking rash like deal on the outside corner of my right eye. It was red with these tiny little bumps. Kinda like small pimples without a head. I have no idea what caused it and a vast internet search returned results that said it could be anything from eczema to allergies, and everything in between. People that posted the "What is this?" question on the internet came back to say their doctor gave them XYZ Antibiotic, or XYZ drug and nothing cleared it up.
I thought my salt soap was irritating it (it was sea salt, coconut oil, goat milk, and tea tree eo) so I quit using it on my face. I washed my sheets. I tried triple antibiotic ointment (the only "medicine" that I use. I'm in my late 20's and still get large pimples, ugh). Nothing worked.
I had ordered some kaolin clay for soaps and decided to order some more tea tree oil and make a mask to see if it helped clear this "rash" up. The tea tree oil came in and I was so anxious that I went ahead and dipped a Q-tip in the EO and then quickly ran it under some water to dilute it. I applied it to my rash. I did leave it on there for quite some time and I think I applied it two or three times. The little bumps went away and left a tomato red splotch there. I was actually kinda happy lol. But I was also worried that maybe I had "burned" the area :?
Anyway, last night when I got home from work I made up a cream using a little of the kaolin clay, sweet almond oil, and a drop of tea tree oil. I applied that to the affected area. I left it on there for several hours. I washed it off before I went to bed and the red area was significantly lighter! Almost back to normal! Yay!
I know this is really long but I'm really excited. I'm currently wearing a full face cream to try to clear up the rest of my skin as well as the remaining rash near my eye. Hopefully in a day or two it will be gone.
Just thought I'd share my home remedy.
*I am in no way giving "medical" advice. Just saying what is working for me.*
