Thanks. I heated 2 T of this walnut oil and it very faintly smelt of crayons. It smelt a little like olive oil at the bottle top. It isn't gross smelling or repulsive. Hmmm. Maybe I will buy another small bottle and compare. I think there is a brand that is bottled in a type of metal bottle. The one I have is a clear glass bottle. I wonder if I can still use this oil?

I know you get this question alot and it is only loosely related here, but what is ca using the amonia smell of my soap when I made soap that has goats milk?
Thank You Jade

@JADE PFEIFFER -- You just have to trust that the ammonia smell will fade. It will.

A tip -- when asking a question that is totally unrelated to the original poster's (OPs) question, it's best to start a new thread with an appropriate title. Otherwise the current thread gets "diluted" with two unrelated discussions and that can be unfair to the OP.

Another reason why you don't want to do this is people who might respond to your question may not see it since it's buried in another conversation. That means you might not get much in the way of advice and comments.

Go to the forum that seems appropriate to your question -- for example Beginners Soap Making Forum -- and look for the button "Post Thread" in the upper right corner. That will get you started making a new thread for your question.
