Ok. So I went to Michal's today, and looked for the soap color that honor435 had mentioned. All I could find was a few colors that apparenty had scents to them. The scent probably wouldn't end up smelling anyway, but I didn't know if I should take that chance  I wans't sure that this was the same stuff talked about before either. They had some really strage colors like peachy and Sea foam (which sound like affully light colors that would not hold in cp soap. SO.....:) What colorant do you guys like to use that are easy :D :) 8) :p and cheap to do?
I was also wondering about digital scales. I don't really want to spend a fortune on one, but if I need to to get a good accurate weight that's ok. So what are your thoughts on that? Where is a good place to get one?

Allrighty! Thanks for the link! We have a Taget about an hour and a half away so I think I'll check the store sometime when we are up in that area. It was good to hear that 2 of you liked it :)
Walmart is pretty close...(like a 45 minute drive) so I'll check that out this Wednesday when we go to music lessons. 8) Last time I was there I was looking for the scales in the cooking area, and the scales there were not quite right. I looked at Staples and they had million-dollar scales

I ordered the second scale on the page. It works wonderfully.

I have the first one on the page and love it. I bought mine at Walmart for around $15. I'd love it more if I could figure out the kg thing. Recipies come written in g's and I'd like to be a bit more accurate with my measuring.

The digital scale question has already been well-answered so I will tackle the colorant question.

Probably the cheapest way to color soap is to start at your own spice rack. I find that turmeric gives a beautiful, warm yellow, cinnamon gives a rich brown, and paprika makes for a nice peachy color that holds.

Outside of that, can I suggest you invest in a few oxides and ultramarines. These can be obtained for very reasonable (I get mine from Brambleberry), hold like the dickens in CP soap, and are easy to use. Just remember, a little goes a LONG ways with these.

You should be able to have lots of fun for cheap with just a few.....I would suggest ultramarine pink, ultramarine blue, green chromium oxide, and some brick red oxide.

If you love purple, do a search for FD&C blue. It morphs to a really pretty violet in CP soap. :)
