Question about hot process

Hello everyone I have a question please. I have not done hot process in a minute..... So I've got a 8 quart crockpot. How much oil will fit in this crockpot? I just want to make sure and not put too much in and be too close to the top.

Hot process soap bubbles up and sometimes volcanoes during the cooking process. I wouldn't fill the crockpot over half full. Start with small batches until you are more familiar with how the soap acts when cooking.
