So I haven't been on here in a long while....and now I"m wanting to make the 100% coconut oil soap with the 20% lye discount and 33% lye solution, that Paul mentioned last year sometime.

I want to make this with cow's milk, as I have a local source for it and just got too much milk to use before it sours and now I'm confused again. I remembering asking about milk soaps last year sometime and Paul said:

I use GM as about 60% of the total liquids required by the recipe and calculator. Say the recipe requires, and I'm going to make this easy, 10 ounces of water, and 4 ounces of lye. Since I masterbatch my lye solution at 50% lye to 50% aloe vera juice, I know I need to use 8 ounces of the solution to get 4 ounces of lye and 4 ounces of liquid. I add this amount to the oils and just emulsify. I need 6 more ounces of liquid to bring my total weight to 10 ounces, as the recipe called for. After I have brought to very thin trace I add the 6 ounces of very cold GM to my batter, stick blend a few times, color, swirl, add scents, then pour! Since everything was at room temp, and I mean everything except the very cold GM, I have plenty of play time even with finicky FO's!
Paul....

So now I'm confused about the calculations for doing this with the percentages for the 100% coconut oil soap.
I want to do a 3.25 lb. batch, and running it through SoapCalc I got
19.76 oz. for water and 7.62 oz. for lye and obviously, 3.25 lbs. of coconut oil. So now, I don't know how to change the figures to accommodate the milk into the recipe. Is this clear to anyone? Should I use a different calculator for this? Thanks for the help!

Based on your recipe using a 50/50 Lye/Water solution you would have 7.62 oz lye mixed into 7.62 oz of water. Cool the lye/water to room temp, or stick in the fridge. The remainder of your liquid 12.14 oz (the original 19.76 that your recipe called for minus the 7.62 you mixed with the water) can be cold milk. Use your usual soaping method. Be mindful of the temps, milks burn easily.

Does that make sense to anyone but me?

Okay, that does seem to make sense to me. I just get confused about the 33% lye solution, you know? I need time and lots of paper to figure out the math here. I don't want to end up with itchy skin after all the work of making it. Thanks!

I almost every single time use a 30% with a 6% superfat. Unless I'm using lots of hard oils or doing a many colored swirl. Easier that way.

Okay, now I get it. It makes sense. Thank you for helping me to figure it out. I've had a long day, and I needed some time to think about this and reread it. Thanks! :D
