I poured a batch of salt bars the other night that have me scratching my head and wondering what caused a little glitch. The bars ended up oily, here's the specifics.

I used a tried and true recipe, 80% coconut 20% Castor, 80% non iodized, fine sea salt, super fatted at 12%. I have used this recipe multiple times with fabulous results. I pour them in an individual silicone cavity mold as always then topped them with pink Himalayan salt and walked away. The only thing I did different was that I added my oxide colorant before I added my lye/water solution.

When I checked the batch this morning they were hard but the outside of them had a layer of oil on them. Almost like you had taken a regular bar and dipped it in oil. Throughout the day they have dried some and they show no other problems. The oil had no zap to it. I mixed oils and water/lye at 90 degrees. Any ideas what caused the oil?
