Pureed cucumber - pix posted

I made an aloe cucumber bar today that looks great so far. (crossing fingers) I know some members have been curious about using veggies in soaps so I thought I would post pix of what pureed cucumber looks like when used as the lye solution. This has about 5 oz of pureed cucumber, about 11 oz of aloe gel and around 4 oz of distilled water. (don't have my recipe in front of me) ( I just kind of chose those numbers - I didn't want to have the whole thing be cuc for fear of it turning brown, plus I wanted to use the aloe gel)

This is the pureed cuc and aloe before adding lye.

This is the cuc/aloe mixture after the lye has been mixed in. Let me tell you, smells like barf! (1st word that came to mind)

Oils - Olive, Almond, Avocado, Coconut, Palm, Crisco
Scented with Aloe and Clover - WSP and Cucumber - WSP
I added about 3 tablespoons of pureed cuc at trace. I really hope it stays the color it is now. It is so pretty. Light green and creamy.

Do you have a longer cure time with the moisture from the puree?

Whenever I make soap with cucumber puree, it is a pretty green with speckles - for about 2 weeks, then the green morphs to beige. It's still nice soap, but I wish the green stayed.

Looks great opalgirl!! I like the idea of the aloe juice
I love to make cucumber soap---I haven't made it yet this year, waiting for our local cukes to come in
montana--when I make my cuke soap, I substitute equal amt's of pureed cucumber for the water, so my cure time is the same as it would be with all water (hoe that makes sense!)
