So, I was thinking of trying something different and adding pumpkin puree to one of my new soaps I am trying to make and was wondering when and how much puree I should use.

Do I add it at trace? If so, how much? Not sure if this is going to turn out the way I am expecting but I am willing to give it a shot. I was thinking of adding coconut milk at trace and I know to subtract that from the water but not the puree part.

I used 1-2 TBSP PPO added at trace. Add some and if you don't like the color. It doesn't take much, however, it depends on the color of the base oils and the brand of purree you buy. Dont use more then 4 TBSP PPO though. That might cause DOS

I've made soap with squash purée and used it in place of some of the water. I added with the rest of the water before. Adding lye. You just need to make sure you stir well to ensure the lye dissolves.

i make a fresh pumpkin puree buttermilk soap. fresh pumpkin puree for about 60 percent of my lye liquid, then refrigerate overnight. i add the 40 percent buttermilk at trace. have had two people actually bite into it, knowing full well it was soap :)
