I'm currently working on a price list for my business. I'm unsure of how the list should look.

I'm selling soaps(all different sizes), bath salts, body scrubs, and am going to eventually add candles. I'm thinking of doing sets. Like a pack of 4 or 6 soaps. Also going to be doing different sized gift baskets. I've pretty much got all of my prices worked out but not sure of the order for the list.

Also want to include that I can d customized products for wedding, showers, parties, etc. The prices would be individual to the customer's order.

Any help is appreciated!!!

If organizing the list alphabetically will not work, why not organize the list according to a general bathing process? List the soaps first, then bath salts & scrubs, then body oils & lotions, next the powders & other items available, and the gift baskets for last. You can also list your availability for customized orders on the bottom of the list or on top if you prefer.

I agree, I would list it by type of product and I think order of use is a clever idea.

I don't sell, but I do buy way too many things...

One pricing strategy that applies to just about any widget: stick with whole dollars/pounds/euros/whatever and leave off the pennies/pence/whatever-a-euro-portion-is. :)

Seeing a bunch of numbers just feels like more.

$10

$9.65

Folks will actually be more inclined to buy the product for $10. This is especially true if customers are reading the price from a menu where they see a bunch of numbers.

Also, the old standby of group pricing makes folks buy more (e.g. 4 @ $20 will sell more than 1 @ $5). A lot of folks won't even do the math. That makes me sad when I think about it. Math and science are lovely.

Put what you want to sell most at the top (people have short attention spans). Use a call-out for any "specials" you really want to see go.

Great Ideas
