preservatives in body scrubs?

Hi again,

I'm working on my body scrub formulas and was wondering if I need to include a preservative. Is it necessary? Does anyone have any info they can share? Thanks!

You definately need to use a preservative. Either Germall Plus @ 0.5% or Optiphen Plus at up to 1.5%. The reason you need it is that you know that water is going to be introduced to the jar through use which means ickies growing.... (technical term that one).....

Ditto what Lindy said unless you plan to use it all up the day you make it.
