So I have been avidly trying and striving to keep everything nice and neat in my supply storage area but moving - and moving - and moving again has proven to be too much for even the most fastidious attempts on my part and everything is spilling over and looking pretty decrepit. I tried baby food jars, plastic twist jars, ziploc, putting everything in plastic bins of every shape and size and still I can't get things neat. So I know not everyone is on the move from place to place like I've been - but this is sooooo frustrating. I am keeping it all in a large trunk - each category separate, most labeled - the trouble starts after I start mixing and combining ingredients - for cosmetics for example - the end result becomes the problem - where do I put that, in what and how to keep that neat? Right now I have stacks of lipgloss in large containers, soaps, creams and mineral powders that are the most problematic. What do I need to be doing?? JJ

I'm not quite sure exactly what you are asking. Are you asking how we store our supplies or final product? I store my supplies in plastic containers and baskets on metal shelving. I also cure my soaps on metal shelving. Once my products are wrapped and labeled they go in either baskets, bins or plastic storage containers on metal shelving well labeled.

What I'm asking - SOS - people who move a lot. Gypsies et al - what do you do to keep your stuff nice and neat? Is there any foolproof way to stop things from intermixing and overflowing? What is the best way to keep things nice and NEAT and identifable?

Seal the jars with electrician's tape. It makes a good seal, but it's easy to remove and re-use, unlike duct tape. Group categories of ingredients in plastic ziploc bags.

Check out the cake decorating Aisle at Michael's. Wilton has a carrying case / organizer for cake decorating stuff, and I think it would be awesome for soap stuff.
