ok i got some, now how do i use it? no directions, mix some powder with a small amt of oil?

Can you go to the site you bought it from and see if they have instructions ?
They usually have a recommended rate of use too. I mix mine with oil , but I don't want to give advice when I don't know exactly what you have.

crappy night of soaping, i got a light trace then added mang and purple powder and lavender, it got so thin, then i added some black liquid to a cup of soap i set aside, that didnt get black, i dont know how this is going to turn out???? I poured up high to try and make swirls, but im thinking if it was to thin its just going to meld together, im going back to hp if this doesnt work.

Colorants can be wonky. Sometimes they don't turn the color you intended until the next day. My Labcolors "azure" pours a yellowy green. Freaked me out the first time. The next day the color was correct. See what happens, and post pix! :D

Mix your oxide with a small amount (a tablespoon or so) of your oils. Mash it up really good and make sure it is completely dissolved in the oil, then mix in with the rest of your oils.

Remember that your soap will lighten the color of the oxide considerably.

I did that, it made a nice purple color, then i wanted to do black swirls, so i put aside some soap and added liquid black, it didnt really get black, and my mix was so thin after i added color and eo, so i just added the black potion and swirled, but i dont think it was dark enough? my soap isnt gelling, which ive never had happen, its in the oven now, we'll see? what did you use to make your black soap?i have liquid and powder.

I used black oxide for my black soap, however I used a LOT. Too much, actually. Got gray lather. I probably put in about 2 teaspoons for <2 lb batch.

I haven't retried it yet using less oxide.... someone mentioned activated charcoal, I might give that a try sometime.

I tried several times to get a decent black.
First time I used black oxide - turned grey and even then gave a greyish lather.

The second time I used blackest black matted from KTB with additional activated charcoal (3 capsules) and ik turned out just perfect - even white lather - see pics below.

the first - IRL it looks a LOT greyer

Hi,
With black oxides its normal that you get a greyish color; the natural color of your soap, often white, will together with black create grey
To achieve a deep black color, a lot of people use charcoal. Maybe you could try that. Here a pic from thedishforum.

You'll notice the lather has a pretty normal color too.
