I've only been doing trade shows or fall craft fairs for the last 3 years, but we are planning on expanding our business this year. We have applied for a farmers market this season from every Saturday May - October. I have a huge supply of stock on my most popular scents so having enough to start the season isn't an issue, but I'm wondering how to plan for the whole season. I want to avoid running out of scents and then not being able to restock them for another 4-6 weeks.
So I guess my questions would be
Do I make more when I hit a magic number?
Do I plan for the whole season before hand?
Any suggestions from those who do farmers markets would be wonderful, I feel like a fish out of water!

The farmer's market that I do is pretty small so I set a par for bars and once I get down to the par I make more. The par is definitely an estimate of what I will sell until I run out. The scent determines the par. I usually plan for half the season, but end up making a little more on some scents. I only do about 6 Saturdays - too busy with kids stuff. You'll get a good idea after the first couple of weekends. If you are not doing the first weekend, I would go check it out ahead of time just check out the crowds etc.. Good Luck!
