I know that many people have posted what scents they really like and that soap well. I was wondering if anyone could share some scents they are very familiar with that exhibit no acceleration, no ricing, no discoloring, and no morphing in cold process. I am beginning to experiment a bit more with swirling and bright colors so I do not want anything that will hurry me any more than needed. I also want to colors to stay vibrant.

Thanks so much!!!

That could be a lot of fo's and would vary with soap recipes used & temps used. I highly recommend The Soap Scent Review Board http://soapscentreview.obisoap.ca/
It's a forum/board where fellow soapers post their experience with fo's from 100's of different suppliers. It can take a day or 2 to get approved and you do need a paid email account (not yahoo, gmail, etc). But the information that is shared there has saved me so much money on fo's & eo's.

But here's some fo's that I've had good experience with and have not had any acceleration or ricing problems with & the fo's have stuck and didn't discolor. But keep in mind that I soap cool, so that helps from acceleration as well.
Kentish Rain from BB
Energy from BB
Lettuce from BB (I'm not sure if they carry it anymore though)

White Tea & Ginger from NG
Cotton & Blossom from NG

Cool Water from BCN
Clean Cotton from BCN

I highly second the link Genny gave you. It has proven to be a wonderful resource for me.

Yes- temps (and water amount, too) can play a significant part in whether an FO will accelerate in your batch or not. For example, the Kentish Rain from BB that Genny soaps with no problems acclerated quite fast on me. I barely got it into my mold before it set up and started going through a hot gel, but I soaped it at 120F.

Off the top of my head, here are some FOs that that stand out as doing extremely well for me at a 120F soaping temp and a 31% to 33% lye solution (and they don't discolor or morph on me):

-Paradise from Daystar (well, actually- just a very minor pale yellow discoloration, but a modest amount of TD eliminates it perfectly for me)

-Love Spirit (a Love Spell dupe) from TheScentWorks

-Blue Sugar from TheScentWorks

IrishLass :)

Thank you!! These are very helpful. I am glad to see Energy on this list. It is one that I recently got in a kit from BB. I have made perfume with it but did not have enough for soap. It has been on my list of ones to try. Now that I had 2 people say something about it, I will definitely purchase it next time I send in an order.

Thank you!!
