Not a melt and pour person; I do CP. But I have an order from a customer for a few plain glycerine soaps that I'm glad to make for her. My only question is what the best packaging is. I've seen remarks that M and P should be wrapped immediately, and other say that it should not be wrapped because it'll blister. Advice?

By and large you can wrap M&P as soon as it is cool, although with some styles (ie lots of layers or embeds) it is a good idea to give it a good 12 hours or so for the surfaces to bond together well.

Lots of folks like to use a clear wrap on M&P crafts to show off the bar, but if this is a private order I would think you can use whatever you want to.

Best of luck in your endeavors! :)

I wrap straight away. If I don't, little particals in the air get drawn to the bar, lint, hair, dust, etc. I know that sounds nasty, but M&P is a magnet for 'stuff'.

It does need to be wrapped air tight so it won't shrivel, either in saran wrap, a cello bag, shrink wrap. etc. Something non-porous. ANY kind of paper, tissue, wax paper, will stick to the bar. No just stick a little, but almost get embedded so that whe you try to peel it off, it will break into lots of little pieces & you will either have to soak the bar in water to get the paper off or scrap it off with ak nife, etc.

So Tab, since this is a custom order, what about my kitchen vacuum sealer and a small pint size bag? It's the only airtight thing around here I can think of. The package, thankfully, doesn't have to be pretty, just functional. I'm assuming from feedback here that I shouldn't use my shrink wrap, since it's perforated for CP.

That should be fine. I have never used one, but in theory it sounds like it would be fine

I use shrink wrap on my M&P all the time. You can buy shrink wrap by the roll at Michael's and cut to size, wrap, and use your blow dryer to shrink. A small peice of tape in the back will hold it(That's where I put my label) or you can use and old curling iorn to crimp the edges.
Can you tell I'm the queen of cheap!!!
