Just wanted to see if any of the Australian's on the forum have ordered colours that were shipped from overseas. I had a look at a few sites and the shipping for even powdered colours was approx $50 for 10 colours. Are there any places with reasonable shipping to OZ.

What's wrong with buying from here , cheaper postage or courier.

I do normally buy in OZ but there are some colours that I have seen on US sites that I have not seen for sale here at all. If there is somewhere in OZ with a good range of colours I would love to know.

I am in Brisbane. I can post a list of colours I am after if you like. Some I know I can get in oz but I usually try and get as much as I can from a single place especially light things like colours to minimise freight costs.

Have you checked nurturesoapsupplies? Shipping of the Vibrance 1oz mica set (7 colors) to Australia is $16.75 USPS First Class.

Somewhat OT, but since you're in Australia you should be able to find Australian sandalwood powder. It makes a gorgeous burgundy color, it smells great, and it's sustainable and not endangered, unlike Indian Sandalwood.

Are you after neons, micas, oxides, clays? I get different colours from different suppliers, there are many to choose from. Some colours I found on ebay were great as well. Few neons morped, but many are great. One of my favourite ebay sellers sells other cosmetic additives as well. Search for neon pigments, she should pop up in search results.Heirloombodycare, Bigtreesuppluis, Aussiesoapsupplies, etc, all with lots off colours to choose from.

Thanks everyone for the tips I do currently buy from Bigtreesuppluis, Aussiesoapsupplies so will have to check out the other links I am looking for neons and micas mostly.

I have been using crayons! They work really we'll and lovely and bright x

Crayons are not recommended for use in soap. While they might be non toxic I give some of my soaps to friends and family and I would not want to be using any colours that were not soap safe.

Thanks for that link karenbeth, I have been looking for tussah silk!

... pity I am on a spending ban :(
But I do need to buy a nice red for Christmas soap - and it looks like this group don't have a minimum order :)
